The Collier Township Sewer Department is here to help service the over 3500 residential and business accounts and over 71 miles of interceptor and collection lines located in our Township. With the help of ALCOSAN, PA American Water, 3RiversWetWeather, and Jordan Tax Service, we strive to take care of your sanitary needs. Grease Trap Regulations

Grease Traps and/or Interceptors are installed to limit the amount of grease discharged into the public sewer system to levels not exceeding those permitted by ALCOSAN. Grease traps and/or Interceptors are required for all businesses where food is prepared, cooked, sold, served or given with or without charge to customers or guests for their consumption.

When Do I Need a Dye Test/Lateral Inspection?
Dye tests are required for all new construction and all exchange of property, including refinancing.
How Long is My Dye Test Good For?
Dye tests are valid for two years Lateral inspections are valid for 5 years.
Who Can Perform a Dye Test?
Dye tests must be performed by an Allegheny County licensed plumber.
What Happens If My Dye/Lateral Test Fails?
If the test fails, then the entire lateral shall be replaced or relined in accordance with the Allegheny County Plumbing Code. One spot repair of the lateral pipe will be allowed only if the lateral pipe is comprised entirely of polyvinyl chloride (PVC) or acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS) and there are no other structural defeats observed during inspection.
What is a Deduct Meter?
Deduct (credit) meters may typically be used in the case of the installation of a lawn sprinkling system, heavy-use swimming pools, or commercial or manufacturing facilities. Deduct meters are permanently installed and not for temporary or one-time uses.  Deduct Meter Application

Collier Township Sewer Department (Formerly CTMA)
On April 27th, 2020, the Collier Township Board of Commissioners formally adopted Ordinance No. 711 calling for the conveyance of the Collier Township Municipal Authority Sanitary Sewer System to the Township and the dissolution of the Authority. As the new administrator of the Sanitary Sewer Department, the Township is committed to continuing excellent services to its residents and businesses.
