Police Records and Evidence Technician
The Township of Collier, Allegheny County is accepting applications for a Police Records and Evidence Technician. This position will work directly with the Chief of Police and be responsible for clerical and technical duties for the police department and provide a variety of administrative assistance as needed.
Other responsibilities include but are not limited to: processing, controlling and transferring evidence and property; receiving visitors and incoming calls; reviewing incident reports; distributing reports and crime information to internal staff and outside agencies; briefing the Chief of Police and Officers on daily incidents and activities; compiling and updating work schedules and preparing and verifying payroll data; The position will responsible for billing of Police Department expenses and services. This position will also be responsible for technical record keeping and preparation of evidence exhibits for court presentations and related courtroom testimony, as well as receive, sort, and secure all property delivered to the evidence and property room, and will be responsible for verifying evidence reports against property reports to ensure accuracy.
A high school diploma or GED and four (4) years of experience with a police agency with duties closely related to those described above, or equivalent combination of education/experience is required.
